Hello, 2019!

Another year has come to a close and with it a lot of new changes. 2018 was a big year, as I began it while still in college and finished it on a visit home from my new home in NYC. This was probably the first year ever I didn’t feel the need to commemorate the year with any big New Years Eve plans, and spent the night catching up with my best girl friends and then heading home early to prepare for my flight back. It was really nice, minus ending up in bed at 2 am regardless.

This is also the first year I haven’t made any resolutions. Despite having a really successful resolution in 2017 (I vowed to start flossing, I still floss daily, I bet my dentist is very proud), it’s hard to set one defined goal for the year that seems accessible. Instead, I’ve set monthly goals to work towards regarding my financial, career, and personal goals. It’s going to be more of a work in process year than a “make sure you floss everyday” year.

Overall, 2018 was a year of many big life changes but I’m moving into the new year with a strong group of old friends who I know I can turn to even when we’re scattered far and wide across the US as well as the most supportive family who I love to go home to when I can. Not to mention all of the amazing new people I’ve met in NYC. I can’t say for sure what 2019 will bring… I’m constantly surprising myself (for better or for worse) and 12 months is a long time. All I can say for sure is that it’s going to be great.
