Restaurant Week NYC 2019

Prior to last week, I had no idea that restaurant week existed let alone what it was. Turns out it’s a life changing time period in NYC where all the most amazing 5 star, Michelin rated restaurants offer insanely good prices for limited menu three course meals. Of course, I couldn’t say no to that. Unfortunately i don’t have pictures of my first experience, an amazing dinner at Temple Court with a friend. I had the Cavatelli, Salmon, and shared baked Alaska and Gâteau Basque for dessert. The flavors, presentation, atmosphere, all amazing. And isn’t funny how there was hardly a delay between courses at a place where the food is a masterpiece, but I can be waiting at a diner for two hours for some chicken strips?

Of course, once is not enough when deals like these are limited, so I scheduled a dinner at a steakhouse for Friday. It was another extravagant three-course filling dinner. This time starting with steak tartare (which I finished before managing a picture), a filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese for the main course, and split profiteroles and tiramisu for dessert. Leaving overstuffed but completely satisfied. I’m not a huge fan of red meat but who can resist a perfectly done filet, you tell me.
