For David’s last dinner in NYC before he began his journey to London by way of D.C., we decided to dine al fresco in meatpacking at Serafina. I had had Serafina on my list of places to try for quite a while just based off of the cheery yellow umbrellas decorating the patio. After work we made our way to Chelsea for a mid evening dinner to celebrate our time in NYC.
I decided to break out this jumpsuit that I had bought in D.C. and hadn’t had a chance to wear. I love the art deco pattern and the wide legs, which make it extremely comfy. The straps were perfect for the mild pre-Fall day and with a sweater it easily transitioned to the cooler evening temperatures on the patio. I love everything about this jumpsuit; the tie around the waist, sweetheart neckline and removable straps, and the fact that it’s an outfit in a single piece. I got it on sale and luckily it’s still available for a steal!
We started dinner with bruschetta, which was perfectly light and refreshing while tiding my hunger until the main event. I went with bowtie pasta with shrimp in a cream sauce and David tried the orecchiette. I’m not over-exaggerating when I say this pasta was heavenly. The cream sauce wasn’t too heavy or overpowering, the shrimp fit the dish perfectly, and parmesan soaked into the sauce so nicely. I ate every last bite of course, so it’s good to note that their portion sizes aren’t out of control and I didn’t feel ill at the amount I’d eaten, as can happen at Italian restaurants with massive portions.
Afterwards we walked a few blocks over to Pinkberry, an old favorite of ours, and finished the evening with fruit laden fro-yo. It was the perfect night and I’ll always look back fondly on the occasion. Now looking forward to the next post with David… London!
