Afternoon Tea at the Zetter Townhouse

I personally believe it’s impossible to pay a visit to London, or the UK in general, without having proper tea. I myself had never had the full tea experience and was very excited to have the full formal tea time. I found a nearby hotel that served a highly rated tea and booked myself a visit at the Zetter Townhouse. The day arrived overcast and misty which made escaping the chill to sit indoors with tea even more enjoyable.

Presented with my Early Grey and triple tiered assortment of food, I was more than content to sit and warm up in the cozy sitting room by the window. Starting with the vegetarian selection of sandwiches, I dug in, very glad I had built an appetite during the morning due to the sheer amount of food. Following the sandwiches I’m proud to say I polished off both scones and made an honorable dent in each of the three pastries as well. Between the raisin scone, chocolate puff pastry, carrot cake, and raspberry macaron, I was well full by the time I left.

My favorites were the scones and the carrot cake, which meant I had to make an extra effort to get scones for breakfast the following morning. All in all it was a more than pleasant afternoon spent sitting and enjoying my surroundings while stuffing myself full of delicious bits and bites. Just writing this I’m having a craving for more tea time delicacies, and will have to look into a tea occasion here in New York…
