The weekend before I came home for Thanksgiving, my Dad came into NYC for a Autumn visit. London BFF Taylor also came in making for a very fun city weekend. He stayed in the same hotel as before, situated on the park with a view of Columbus Circle. We enjoyed copious amounts of delicious food both out on the town and in the comfort of the hotel room. Having the park in close proximity was wonderful since I got to go for a morning jog and appreciate the morning Autumn light. Nothing is more beautiful then the way the sun comes through the colored leaves as it rises in the morning. Before the weekend was over, my NYC bestie Amy came to the hotel to catch up with Taylor while she was in town. It was such a lovely way to spend what may be the last true Autumn weekend in the city especially before leaving for the holiday.
We had breakfast in the room each morning after watching the sun rise. Coffee and chocolate croissants before leaving for a morning walk.
We lunched at Delmonico’s and it was my second visit to the historic restaurant. We had plenty of delicious food, my favorites being the baked Alaska desserts (we got the classic and the seasonal variation). I could barely walk out of the restaurant I was so full.
After running around the park I forced everybody outside for a walk to take in the Fall colors. It was a pretty chilly day despite the sun so we ended up back inside quickly enough but it was worth it for the views.
Lunch (I ordered off the breakfast menu of course) at The Ainsworth so that we could cheer on the alma mater in our rivalry game… a dismal watch that we left before the end of to maintain some hope.
After catching up and planning future travel for 2020, we departed the hotel and went out ways until the next time!
