Rockin’ Around Midtown

Last weekend was a blast in every Christmas-y way thanks to a visit from Claire and Joe during peak holiday time in NYC. We fit so many fun events into one weekend for an all around perfect celebration of this time of year and the city. The first night they were here we made our way up to Radio City to see the Rockettes kick their way through a spectacular show. I went for the first time last year and let me tell you, an annual visit is not too much. The music, costumes, choreography, and audience made for a seasonal treat. A bit cheesy but definitely a show that reflects the holiday time cheer and is very entertaining to sit through.

Once the show was over we couldn’t be deterred by some pretty serious rain showers, and made our way over to the Lotte Palace. We didn’t pause to ogle the courtyard tree since the courtyard itself was flooded from the rain, but made our way inside and to one of the swanky bars, Trouble’s Trust. Tucked away behind curtains downstairs, the small and intimate bar had a table free for us to sit and enjoy a fancy cocktail (or if you’re like me, enjoy tearing through the bar snacks and sipping on a drink). We enjoyed catching up and basking in the post-show excitement before braving the thoroughly waterlogged streets on the way back to my apartment.

It was the perfect way to ring in a festive and endlessly fun weekend and I’m glad we have the many pictures to remember the evening. Until next year, Rockettes Christmas Spectacular!
