May is here, and with it Spring! As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers and so far the saying has held true though I’m sure we’ll get some May showers as well. I love May, though I’m biased because my birthday is this month as is my Dad’s, making it a month of celebration! Not only that, but buds turn into blooms, Michigan becomes warm enough for a jacket instead of a down parka, and the promise of summer starts to come through. I love spring for the hope of summer, even now when quarantine threatens all summer plans that make the season that much more enjoyable. I’m trying to remind myself daily that my current situation is temporary, and also has it’s advantages (allowing me to be home with family before my brother moves away post grad).
Here’s to a month filled with flowers, (my favorites are lilacs, if you can’t tell from the below), birthday cake, sunshine, conversations with friends, and being outside. I don’t know what the future of the season will bring, but at least I know we won’t be facing it under piles of snow and shivers.
